Where to go for inspiration

Today its all about where to find inspiration.
If you work with graphic design or you are an artist or photographer, there will most likely come days when you’re not sure what you want to do, what you want to take pictures of, which colors to use or various things like that.
Thats why Ive collected a few links during the last year or two that I use to go to for inspiration. These are the few most used in my bookmarks currently. There arent many links but you will find huge amounts of things to go through here.
So here are my suggestions to where you can go for inspiration on those days when your work/art is a little bit stuck, or when you just have a few minutes to spare to go admire other peoples work.

ABDUZEEDO
This is a website founded back in 2006 dedicated to graphic design inspiration and photoshop tutorials.
I always find new things to admire and be inspired by in here. With several high quality posts every day there is always something to look at here. My favorite is the daily inspiration segment where they every day give us an awesome collection of links sent in by readers. And if you read one day and want to look at more of them theres an archieve available with over 420(!) daily inspiration posts.
I cant go a single day without checking out this website :)

SMASHING MAGAZINE
this is also a website I need to visit on a daily basis. With its posts about tutorials, inspiration and showcases, coding and a spectrum of posts about design of all sorts, this website has it all. I even sometimes find a daily post about topics I had not even thought of. There’s always inspiration to find here. As with Abduzeedo this website gets a big + for many posts every day.

DEVIANTART
This website is probably the biggest art community available online. Not only can you share your work here, you can also sell it.
On this website you can find anything from photos to drawings, 3d art, typography art, tutorials, brushes, vectorart – you name it. A lot of extremely talented people use this website on a daily basis and you can add comments or have other people give feedback on your own work.
Some of the artists here let you use the brushes or other things theyve made in your own work if you credit them or ask in advance. Make sure to read the artitst comments before you use anything though. You sure can tell that this website has been around for 10 years this year! The number of artists is a mindblowing 9+millions, theres estimated to be 100k submissions daily with another 100million submissions currently. These stunning numbers say it all – here you can find just about anything. A must visit!

FLICKR
Just like DeviantArt, flickr is a large online community wellknown for its photo and video sharing. As of Oct 2009 (due to wikipedia.org) flickr hosted more than 4 billion images. Here you can store and share your own images or browse the images uploaded by others. Tags are widely used to categorize images and this website was actually one of the first to really implement the use of tag clouds where you can see the most popular current tags used.
You can of course choose if you want your images to be available to the public or if you want them set to private. Groups lets you get in touch with other people with similar interests and share images in pools. The possibilities are many and I suggest you try go there and explore the possibilities. Just make sure to respect the artists comments and read the licenses before you download or use anything you find in here.

Those were my suggestions of the day. In the future I am planing a post with lesser known smaller websites that can give you some of that same feeling and inspiration.
